Time magazine also shares the symptoms linked to fake Botox illness. First and foremost, I always use products I order directly from Allergan or Galderma. Allergan makes Botox and Galderma makes Dysport.
If you are using someone other than me and are concerned about if your Botox is real, check to make sure your provider is legit and orders directly from these companies at botoxcosmetic.com and dysportusa.com. You can also use their find a doc or find a provider search tool to double check.
Another great way to check to see if they work with or accept the awards program Alle for Botox and Aspire for Dysport. This means the provider has an account with the product companies and is ordering directly from them.
If you cannot find the provider listed on the search tool and they do not accept these reward programs, it’s likely they are not purchasing directly from the manufacturer. Consider it a red flag.
